What’s with the eye boogers?

Eye droppings may be related to physiological reasons, such as external stimulation, or pathological reasons, such as bacterial conjunctivitis and dry eye.
1. Physiological reasons: dust, volatile gases and other factors can stimulate the eyes to secrete oil, forming eye droppings, if the amount is not large, there is no need for special treatment.
2. Pathologic causes: Some eye diseases, such as bacterial conjunctivitis, dry eye, etc., may appear in the eyes with eye boogers.
(1) Bacterial conjunctivitis: Due to bacterial infections such as Staphylococcus aureus, which can cause symptoms such as eye congestion and increased purulent discharge, eye boogers may appear.
(2) Dry eye: due to the decrease in tear production, resulting in a lack of tears, which can produce symptoms such as dry, itchy and uncomfortable eyes, and can also cause frequent sticky, filmy secretions in the corners of the eyes, which can form eye droppings.
It is recommended that those who have long eye droppings, accompanied by other uncomfortable symptoms, go to the hospital in a timely manner, to clarify the cause of the disease, and standardize the treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
