How long does it take for your face to swell after wisdom teeth extraction?

The duration of swelling in the face after wisdom teeth extraction is not fixed, it may be 2~3 days or 3~5 days or even longer.
After wisdom teeth extraction, some patients will experience facial swelling, mainly because when wisdom teeth are extracted, it will cause more trauma to the tooth socket, and during the extraction process, if the bone needs to be removed and the teeth need to be separated, there will be obvious swelling and pain after wisdom teeth have been extracted.
However, each patient is different and the duration of facial swelling will vary. When facial swelling is more mild, it may last 2 to 3 days. When the eye swelling is more severe, it may last 3 to 5 days or even longer.
If facial swelling occurs after a tooth extraction, cold compresses can be applied to the area within 48 hours, and hot compresses can be applied to the area after 48 hours. Cold and hot compresses can help the localized swelling to subside.
