Foot soaking as a daily life behavior is generally not considered to have a therapeutic effect on diseases. If there are symptoms of cold and dampness manifestations, it is still recommended to treat them with herbal decoction or acupuncture and massage, which can be chosen on the basis of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) diagnosis, such as Zhenwu Tang and Shi Spleen San. Zhenwu Tang has the effect of warming yang and benefiting water (replenishing yang qi in the body and promoting the circulation of water), and is used to treat the symptoms of yang deficiency and water flooding (yang qi deficiency causing obstacles to the operation of water in the body), which can be seen in the form of fear of cold limbs and syncope, dysuria (unruly urine), palpitations and restlessness under the heart, dizziness in the eyes and head, twitching of the body’s tendons and flesh, instability in standing up, heavy pain in the limbs and swelling, which is more serious below the waist, or abdominal pain and diarrhea; or coughing, panting, vomiting, and so on. The adverse reactions and contraindications of Zhen Wu Tang are not clear. Zhen Wu Tang has the efficacy of warming yang and strengthening the spleen, promoting qi and diuresis (promoting the flow of gases, thus promoting the flow of water and liquids), and is used for treating yin-water with yang deficiency of the spleen and kidneys (deficiency of yang qi of the spleen and kidneys), and internal stagnation of water and qi, which is characterized by swollenness below the half of the body, lack of warmth in the hands and feet, lack of thirst in the mouth, fullness in the chest and abdomen, and loose bowel movements. This formula is not suitable for those with Yang water. After the discomfort should be timely medical treatment, under the guidance of the physician’s diagnosis and selection of medication, not self-medication, so as not to delay the condition.
