The Department of Thyroid and Breast Surgery mainly deals with diseases of the thyroid and breast, and the common ones include nodular goiter, simple thyroid adenoma, and thyroid cyst, which are all benign diseases occurring in the thyroid gland. Malignant diseases of the thyroid gland include papillary, follicular, medullary, and undifferentiated carcinomas, and patients diagnosed at an early stage should be treated with surgery. There are also benign and malignant diseases of the breast. Benign diseases include breast lipoma, fibroadenoma, and hyperplastic nodules of the breast. Inflammatory diseases include acute mastitis and plasma cell mastitis. Malignant tumors include sarcomas of the breast and breast cancer. When malignant tumors are diagnosed at an early stage, radical mastectomy should be performed actively, and chemotherapy and other treatments are needed after the operation.
