Familial genetic diseases may not carry the causative gene for two to three generations for some disease types, which are mainly monogenic diseases. For polygenic diseases, the causative gene may always be present, however, the chance of developing the disease decreases with each generation. Genetic diseases are hereditary, lifelong, familial, and congenital, and most genetic diseases cannot be cured. Genetic diseases can be intervened in daily life, such as dietary intervention, pharmacological intervention, surgical intervention, and even the latest gene therapy, which can also be performed for genetic diseases, but this method is not very mature yet. Patients with family genetic disorders are better off going to the hospital for reasonable treatment under the guidance of a doctor.
