How to Correct Walking Ankylosis

Conservative treatment of walking inward curvature during the developmental period can be corrected with exercise plus braces, and surgical treatment can be considered for patients after the developmental period.
There are two types of corrections for walking with an inward curvature, and the way to differentiate between them mainly depends on whether the bones are still in the developmental stage or not.
1. Conservative treatment: Adolescents during the developmental period are mostly treated with conservative treatment, i.e., exercise and braces. In order to correct the posture, the toes of the feet should be pointed forward, and the patella should be pointed forward, and the posture should be corrected through rehabilitation exercises. In severe cases, it is necessary to wear a brace to correct the walking posture through long-term exercises.
2. Surgical treatment: Patients who have completed puberty should go to the hospital to confirm the state of their bones through X-rays and CT examinations to make sure that they have completed puberty. Surgical correction of the bone shape will be performed according to the doctor’s instructions, and rehabilitation training will be ensured after the surgery.
