How to clean a newborn baby who has pooped

Newborn baby boys and girls are cleaned differently. The child needs to scrub the perineum and anus after defecation. 1. Baby boy cleaning: To start with, use a damp cloth or cotton ball to remove feces and urine. Boys take care to clean from the thigh folds toward the penis. After cleaning the roots of the thighs, hold the boy’s ankles in one hand. Lift the legs and clean the buttocks. Change the baby into a dry, comfortable diaper. 2. Baby girl cleaning: first use a wet cloth or cotton ball to remove urine and feces, then clean the genitals and surrounding skin. Focus on not pulling the labia apart to clean, forcibly clean but will bring in bacteria. Then hold the legs and lift them up to clean the buttocks. Girls need to be careful to wipe the back of the vagina towards the anus to prevent the spread of bacteria and infection. Consult your obstetrician/gynecologist for the proper way to clean your newborn’s perineum and anus.
