What is the important information about melanoma?

In outpatient clinics, there are often patients who come to consult about nevi on their bodies-not surprisingly; and recently, many of them come to me saying that they have trouble sleeping at night after watching so-and-so movie and worrying that the nevi on their bodies may also become cancerous-bordering on panic. So, let’s study skin melanoma together. Cutaneous melanoma is a skin tumor with a high degree of malignancy. Melanoma originates from melanocytes at the true epidermal junction or malignant transmorphic atypical melanocytic nevus or congenital nevus-like melanocytes, which become invasive and metastasize after different times. Four important messages about melanoma: 1. Melanoma is the most common malignancy in young people; 2. Early diagnosis and excision of initial melanoma equals true cure; 3. All physicians and nurses have the responsibility to detect early melanoma; 4. All acquired pigment damage is detected according to the ABCDE rule. A, asymmetrical shape; B, irregular edges; C, uneven color; D, diameter greater than 6mm; E, gradual increase in lesions. You can self-diagnose based on the above information. Note: Nevi in the palm and foot-plantar area should be completely removed as early as possible.
