Difference between malignant melanoma and plain paper

Almost everyone has moles of varying size, and we therefore emphasize that it is not a good idea to remove them on sight. Many normal and stable moles (such as non-frictional areas) do not need to be removed, especially on the face. During the consultation, we found that some people have the habit of picking and scratching the moles on their bodies, which often causes breakage and long-term bad stimulation will increase the risk of malignant change of moles. Some people cut their moles with knives or scissors or go to some irregular institutions for treatment, which can promote the metastasis and spread of cancer cells, with serious consequences. Specially, we remind beauty lovers that inappropriate “mole removal” is a bad stimulus to moles, which can easily induce moles to become malignant melanoma, and should be treated by oncologists. Malignant melanoma is not untreatable Malignant melanoma is currently treated with comprehensive treatment, including surgical treatment, drug treatment, immunotherapy and radiation therapy. The number of patients hospitalized for malignant melanoma accounts for about one tenth of the bone and soft tissue tumors in our department. Malignant melanoma is highly malignant and often metastasizes through both blood and lymphatic pathways, but if diagnosed early and treated in a timely manner, most patients can still achieve a better outcome. For example, Mr. Zhang, who received treatment 16 years ago, was in good health when he was reviewed recently, with no signs of recurrence or metastasis. Therefore, early diagnosis and timely treatment are very important. Special attention should be paid to “easy to rub” and “fast-growing” moles. In addition to foot moles, moles on the elbows, hands, hips, waist, and even moles on women’s bras should be given extra attention. Moles in these areas are prone to malignant changes when they are rubbed and squeezed for a long time. If the moles on your body have obvious enlargement, surface roughness, color change, hair loss on the moles, surface rupture, or even enlargement of nearby lymph nodes within a short period of time, it indicates the tendency of malignant transformation, and you should go to a professional hospital to consult a medical oncologist in time. Simple identification of malignant melanoma and common moles The National Cancer Institute of America has proposed the “ABCD” method for early diagnosis of malignant melanoma. The so-called “ABCD” represents four kinds of symptoms: 1. Asymmetry: If a mole is divided into two, ordinary moles are symmetrical on both sides, while malignant melanoma is asymmetrical on both sides; 2. Brown, brown or black, while malignant melanoma is often mixed with pink, white or blue-black on the basis of brown or tan; 4.Diameter: ordinary moles are generally less than 5mm, while malignant melanoma is often larger than 5mm.
