How to treat choroidal hemangioma

Choroidal hemangioma is a relatively rare disease in ophthalmology, most patients have no abnormal manifestations, and a small number of patients will cause retinal detachment and secondary glaucoma. Treatment is mainly divided into choroidal hemangioma tumor treatment, treatment for complications in two aspects, choroidal hemangioma tumor is mainly through the fundus laser photocoagulation treatment, to promote hemangioma atrophy, reduce the leakage of blood vessels in the tumor, to avoid the formation of retinal detachment. Laser photocoagulation treatment should pay attention to the energy moderation, each time the range of photocoagulation should not be too large, so as not to cause extensive retinal damage. Once the choroidal hemangioma has formed a complication, it needs to be treated by surgery. When retinal detachment is formed, vitrectomy is needed to reset the retina, and intraocular laser treatment is performed during the operation to make the choroidal hemangioma atrophy. If secondary glaucoma develops, composite trabeculectomy surgery is required and anti-glaucoma surgery is performed to lower the intraocular pressure.
