Yongquan acupoint, also known as Dichong, is located in the most concave part of the center of the foot of the curled toe of the flexed foot and belongs to the foot-shaoyin kidney meridian, which has the efficacy of nourishing the kidney and clearing away heat, opening up the orifices and lowering the rebelliousness, and can be clinically paired with Baihui, Shakuzawa and other acupoints for the treatment of fainting, seizures and other emergencies; swelling and pain in the throat, loss of voice and other lung disorders; as well as headaches, insomnia, dysuria (unruly urine), heat in the heart of the feet, and Pangyu gas, among other disorders.
When performing needling at this point, damage to the arteries of the foot should be avoided, and moxibustion can also be performed. Most patients can have acupuncture at this point.
