What to do about orbicularis oculi spasm

Chorioretinal spasm, also called blepharospasm, is a relatively common condition in ophthalmology, and many people come to the doctor because of eyelid jumping, which is actually a manifestation of blepharospasm. For example, if there is local inflammation, including conjunctivitis and mydriasis, anti-inflammatory treatment should be given, and if there is an impingement, the impingement needs to be removed, and the symptoms can only be relieved if the cause is removed. For severe blepharospasm, for example, if the symptoms do not improve after a period of conservative treatment, surgical treatment can be considered, including subcutaneous injection of botulinum toxin into the eyelid.
