Hypoglycemia in pregnant women is not a sign of diabetes. It may be due to a significant increase in the body’s need for calories after pregnancy, but the patient may eat less due to early pregnancy reactions, which can lead to hypoglycemia. Gestational diabetes is often elevated in patients with gestational diabetes. When patients routinely undergo standard glucose tolerance test screening during pregnancy, they will find fasting glucose over 5.1mmol/L, or 1h glucose >10mmol/L and 2h glucose >8.3mmol/L. If any of the diagnostic criteria are met, gestational diabetes can be diagnosed.
