What to do if a tooth is knocked loose

After the tooth is loosened by the impact, a full mouth surface tomogram needs to be taken. If the tooth is intact and the root is not fractured, the loosened tooth can be reset and a bracket can be bonded to the labial side of the tooth and secured to a stable neighboring tooth using arch wire ligation. 1-3 months later the periodontium around the root returns to good health, the tooth becomes stable and the arch splint is removed. If a tooth fracture occurs and the crown is missing, the root can be root canalized immediately, the filled root is placed in the socket, waiting for healing, and the root is utilized to fabricate a dental crown restoration in 3 months. In case of longitudinal fracture of the tooth, the loose tooth needs to be directly extracted for immediate implant restoration.
