Usually, novel coronavirus infection does not lead to conjunctivitis. Novel coronavirus usually infects the respiratory system and causes clinical manifestations such as dry cough, chest tightness, shortness of breath, fever, malaise, etc. The formation of viral pneumonia can also be seen on lung CT. A small number of patients may be infected with novel coronavirus by touching contaminated objects, and the virus may enter the body by touching the eyes or rubbing the eyes, and also by touching the eyes to bring the virus and bacteria to the conjunctiva, leading to conjunctivitis. In patients with epidemiological history of conjunctivitis, the presence of novel coronavirus infection should be investigated through relevant tests, as conjunctivitis is not a unique manifestation of novel coronavirus infection, but it should be identified in people who are at high risk of novel coronavirus infection.
