Yamada type II polyp is malignant or benign

It is not possible to determine whether a polyp is malignant or benign, and a clear diagnosis needs to be made through pathologic examination. Yamada typing is a Japanese polyp typing, divided into four types, is based on the surface morphology of the polyp and the presence of polyps with clitoris to typing, usually divided into four types, type II polyps without clitoris, polyp bulge and the gastric mucosa angle of nearly ninety degrees, the beginning of the bulge, with a clear boundary. Yamada typing is only morphological classification, and can not judge whether the polyp is benign or malignant, it is necessary to send the pathology examination after biopsy, according to the pathology report to make the final judgment. If the polyp is suggestive of carcinoma or endoepithelial neoplasia, the polyp is malignant, while if the polyp is only an adenoma or inflammatory polyp, the polyp is benign. Patients with Yamada type 2 polyps are advised to go to the hospital in time for a comprehensive examination and to follow the doctor’s instructions for regular review to avoid aggravation of the condition.
