Severe emaciation can be classified into two categories: weak emaciation and solid emaciation.
1. Weakness-type emaciation is mainly divided into spleen and stomach weakness, spleen and kidney yang deficiency, qi and blood weakness, lung and kidney yin deficiency and so on.
(1) Weakness of spleen and stomach type of emaciation is characterized by yellowish color, little food and tiredness, pale tongue, white coating and weak pulse. The main method is to strengthen the spleen, and medicines such as Ginseng Ling Bai Zhu Pill and Xiang Sha Nourishing Stomach Pill can be taken.
(2) Spleen and kidney yang deficiency type of emaciation is characterized by pale face, fear of cold limbs, pale tongue, white moss, and thin pulse. The main treatment is to warm the kidney and the spleen, and Gui Shi Lizhong Pill can be taken.
(3) Weakness of qi and blood type emaciation manifests as pale face, palpitation and dizziness, pale tongue and thin moss, and thin and feeble pulse. It can be regulated by taking Bazhen Pill and Ginseng Nourishing Glory Pill.
(4) Lung and kidney yin deficiency type emaciation, manifesting as cough, low fever and weakness, weak pulse, pale tongue and thin moss. It can be treated with medicines such as Maimendong Soup.
2. Real fire type emaciation is mainly divided into liver fire hyperactivity, stomach fire blazing, and so on.
(1) Excessive liver fire type emaciation, manifested as reddish color, anxious and irritable, sweating, trembling hands, and even protruding eyes, with red tongue and yellow fur, and stringy pulse. Treatment may include gentian diarrhea liver soup combined with consistent decoction.
(2) Stomach fire and heat type emaciation, mainly characterized by burning pain in the stomach and epigastrium, thirst for cold drinks, red tongue, red face, and rapid pulse; treatment may include Jade Maiden Decoction, etc. If you feel unwell, you should go to a doctor promptly.
