Characteristic manifestations of dry socket syndrome are severe pain 2~3 days after tooth extraction, and general pain medication can not stop the pain, emptiness in the extraction socket, or corruption and degeneration of blood clots, with putrid odor, those with the above manifestations can basically be diagnosed as dry socket syndrome. 1. Dry socket belongs to the post-extraction complications, which is pathologically manifested as osteitis or mild limited osteomyelitis of the alveolar bone wall, with decomposition, destruction, and detachment of blood clots, leading to multiple small necrosis of the bone wall and inflammation in the surrounding bone marrow cavity. 2. Exposure of nerve endings to various stimuli produces severe pain that radiates to the auriculotemporal region, the mandible, and the top of the head. There is no blood clot in the extraction socket or the blood clot is corrupted and denatured with a strong putrid odor. If any of the above symptoms occur, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time.
