Where is the lymph behind the ear located?

The location of the lymph nodes behind the ear is directly behind the root of the ear. Since the subcutaneous fat behind the ear is thin, the lymph nodes can be palpated. The lymph nodes are about the size of a soybean, have a soft texture, clear borders, no pain when pressed, and are very mobile. If there is pain and enlargement of lymph nodes, it is considered to be inflammation of lymph nodes, which can easily occur in children, but also in adults. It is mainly caused by bacterial infection, and the common causative agents are Staphylococcus aureus or Streptococcus haemolyticus. Anti-infective treatment is required, including oral antibiotics such as cefixime or levofloxacin. The inflammation of the lymph nodes can be controlled and the symptoms can be relieved after a week or so of treatment.
