Sodium chloride injection is useful for many reasons, because sodium chloride is the main electrolyte component of the body’s extracellular fluid, and it is used in hospital for infusions and even for intramuscular and subcutaneous injections, both to rehydrate the body and replenish its electrolytes, and as a solvent. It can be used to prepare antibiotics and other powdered drugs for treatment of the body. Sodium chloride is used in cases of hypotensive shock and when the body requires large amounts of rehydration. When the body needs to be treated with antibiotics, the liquid sodium chloride can be used to dissolve the antibiotics so that they can be introduced into the body’s bloodstream.
