Herbal medicines can improve the pain and swelling of rheumatoid arthritis, but they generally do not cure rheumatoid arthritis.
Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease with joint lesions, i.e., the patient’s immune system incorrectly recognizes the joints as foreign and harmful tissues and attacks the cartilage, synovium, ligaments and other tissues of the joints, and the patient’s main manifestations are morning stiffness, pain and dysfunction of the joints.
Some traditional Chinese medicines with the ability to dispel rheumatism and relieve pain by clearing the meridians (dredging up the meridians and relieving pain), such as Duhuo, Qiangwu, and Wuga Pi, etc., can improve the patient’s symptoms of pain and stiffness in the joints to a certain degree, but they are generally not able to reverse the recognition errors of the immune system, and therefore generally cannot cure rheumatoid arthritis.
When the patient suffers from rheumatoid arthritis, it should be standardized and systematic treatment as soon as possible, do not use medication without authorization, so as not to delay the condition.
