Water-dampness trapping the spleen: symptoms such as abdominal distension, like water wrapped in a bag when pressed, or even face swelling, swelling of the lower limbs, plumpness and distension of the epigastrium (abdomen), which is relieved when there is heat, and so on. Solid Spleen Drink is the treatment of choice. 3. Dampness-heat accumulation: symptoms such as abdominal fullness, distension and urgency in the epigastrium, irritable heat (irritable and sultry), bitterness in the mouth, thirst, red urine, constipation and so on. Zhongman Fenxie Pill is the treatment of choice. 4. Blood stasis in the liver and spleen: symptoms such as fullness in the epigastrium and abdomen, showing green veins, dark and sallow color, or seeing red threads and blood strands, bloody moles or crab claw marks on the face, neck, chest and arms, dry mouth, unwillingness to drink, and so on. The formula chooses to adjust the camp drink for treatment. 5. Spleen and kidney yang deficiency: manifestation of abdominal distension and fullness, resembling a frog’s abdomen, wide in the morning and anxious in the evening, pale and yellowish color, stuffy and dull in the epigastric region (no appetite, reduced food intake), and so on. It can be used in the form of Pseudostemonopsis Liling Tang. 6. Yin deficiency of the liver and kidney: manifested as abdominal distension and fullness, or exposure of green veins, dull complexion, purplish lips, dry mouth, epistaxis (nosebleed), bleeding gums, and scanty urination.
