It is possible that a cold may not only present as a cough and stuffy nose, but also cause gastrointestinal symptoms such as an upset tummy. Children, in particular, are more likely to experience indigestion, abdominal pain and unformed stools in the case of acute upper respiratory infections. These symptoms often fade away as the cold gets better.
