The pain after one week of tooth extraction may be due to bacterial infection, dry socket, fractured bone plate, etc.
1. Bacterial infection: If there is foreign matter left in the socket after tooth extraction or local infection caused by not paying attention to cleaning after tooth extraction, the wound will not heal for a long time and will be painful after tooth extraction.
2. Dry socket: Dry socket can be caused when the blood clot is dislodged from the wound surface due to brushing too early after tooth extraction. The localized wound will become infected, painful and will not heal for a long time.
3. Bone plate fracture: If the bone plate on the buccal or lingual side of the tooth is cracked due to improper operation during tooth extraction, and there is capillary rupture at the same time, then the local wound will ooze blood and will not heal for a long time and the wound will be painful. However, it is rare.
It is recommended that the patient go to the hospital in time, to clarify the cause of toothache and then symptomatic treatment.
