Ginger is not used to treat facial palsy. Facial palsy is divided into central facial palsy and peripheral facial palsy, which are treated differently. Peripheral facial palsy is caused by wind, cold or viral attack on the facial nerve, which leads to edema of the facial nerve, causing paralysis of the innervated facial muscles, and the patient shows a series of problems such as shallow nasolabial folds, shallow forehead lines and enlarged eye fissures on the affected side, etc. The main treatment is to reduce edema of the facial nerve, and hormone therapy can be given in the acute stage to nourish the facial nerve. Central facial palsy is caused by acute cerebrovascular disease, and may be accompanied by symptoms such as unfavorable limb movement, etc. The treatment of central facial palsy is mainly directed at cerebrovascular disease. If the facial palsy is caused by cerebral infarction, treatment such as thrombolysis, fibrin-lowering, anticoagulation, antiplatelet aggregation and cerebral protection should be given in the acute stage, and ginger is not used to treat it.
