Difference between o-legs and x-legs

The biggest difference between O-legs and X-legs is the shape of the legs; O-legs are characterized by the ankles coming together and the knees coming apart, while X-legs are characterized by the knees coming together and the ankles coming apart.

O-legs are also called entropion deformity. Above the knee is the femur and below is the tibia. The longitudinal axis of the femur and tibia have a valgus angle of about 10°~15°. If this valgus angle disappears or even becomes an inversion angle, then it is called inversion deformity of the knee, i.e. O-leg. The specific manifestation is that when the legs try to come together, the ankles can come together, but the calves and knees cannot come together.

X-shaped leg is also called knee valgus deformity. If the angle between the longitudinal axis of the femur and tibia is greater than 15°, it is called X-shaped leg. It is characterized by the fact that when the legs are brought together as far as possible, the knees can be brought together, but the lower legs and ankles cannot be brought together.

It is recommended to go to the orthopedic department in time to complete the relevant examination, diagnose clearly and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment to avoid delaying the condition.
