Alcohol and iodophor can be used together. Alcohol and iodophor are both disinfectant medications. Patients can use alcohol after disinfection with iodophor, which has a deiodinating effect and can reduce the masking and contamination of the skin with iodine. However, in most cases it is not necessary for the patient to use both. Disinfection of the wound can be achieved by using either alcohol or iodophor for anti-inflammatory purposes. The concentration of iodophor for hospital use is 1%, while the concentration of alcohol for hospital use is usually around 70%-75%. Iodophor is more effective and has a good inhibitory effect on bacteria such as budding spores and fungi. Alcohol is slightly less germicidal than iodophor and is more irritating to the skin and wounds, so patients are advised to use iodophor for disinfection.
