What is Cranial Traction

Cranial traction is a treatment method, a clinical operation to be precise. Cranial traction is mainly used in neurosurgery to treat cervical spine injuries, especially for patients with cervical spine slippage. Of course, for cervical spine surgery patients after surgery, especially cervical disc herniation patients after surgery, also need to use cranial traction to external fixation treatment to ensure the effect of surgical treatment. The specific operation of cranial traction is to shave all the hair of the patient, and then do the corresponding cleaning and disinfection work. Drill holes are drilled on both sides of the patient’s parietal tuberosity and screws are fixed. After fixing the screws, a cranial traction arch is installed. One or more traction hammers are attached to the skull through the cranial traction bows to achieve traction treatment of the skull.
