Cherish life and care for health

One of my patients, aged around 40, was diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma in our department 8 months ago, with a history of hepatitis B virus carriage for many years previously, and had not been tested due to work commitments. After the diagnosis, 2 interventions were performed. Currently, bone metastasis has been found. Initially, his family kept it from him, but later told him the condition truthfully. Today, when I saw him again, he was much thinner than before. He knew his condition very well and asked me how long he could still live, and I didn’t know how to answer. He said it didn’t matter, who doesn’t die, sooner or later. I knew he was pretending not to care. Imagine who doesn’t love life! After all, it is the head of the family, there are old and young, there are many unfulfilled wishes, have not yet enjoyed life, many things have not yet had time to …… Now the countdown to life has begun, there is more cruel than this? After talking to him, the mood is very sad, so we should remind everyone to pay attention to their own and their family’s health and do regular medical checkups! Without health, you also lose everything!
