Betalucil is the trade name of Metoprolol. Metoprolol is a beta-blocker, which mainly works on the heart, and has little effect on sexual function. Erectile dysfunction may occur in men who take Metoprolol for a long period of time, but the incidence is rare.
Metoprolol acts mainly on the heart and has little effect on sexual function. Some patients may develop male erectile dysfunction after long-term use of beta-blockers such as metoprolol, but the chances of occurrence are rare. Since diseases such as hypertension and coronary artery disease can themselves cause sexual dysfunction, metoprolol may simply promote sexual dysfunction in most cases.
Metoprolol slows the heart rate and lowers blood pressure, and is mainly used in the treatment of hypertension, angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, arrhythmia, hyperthyroidism, etc. Common adverse reactions include dizziness, fatigue, bradycardia, nausea and vomiting, and other gastrointestinal reactions, and it may induce bronchial asthma. Contraindications to this product include sick sinus node syndrome, degree III atrioventricular block, and cardiogenic shock.
Patients are advised to take Metoprolol under medical supervision.
