Stage 1: When in pain, reduce activity (even walking less) and take oral non-steroidal anti-inflammatory painkillers to help the inflammation and fluid in the joints subside. This phase lasts about 3 weeks. Phase 2: Reduce activity and take oral glucosamine tablets, two tablets three times a day. This will relieve pain and facilitate cartilage repair. After the pain subsides, the doctor will examine the joint and decide whether it is possible to inject sodium vitrate (sodium hyaluronate) into the joint. It can improve the viscosity and lubrication function of joint fluid, protect joint cartilage, promote healing and regeneration of joint cartilage, relieve pain and increase joint mobility. Usually 2ml per injection, once a week, 4-5 times for a course of treatment. This phase lasts for about 5 weeks. Phase 3: Muscle strength exercises, very critical. (see static squat exercise method)
