The biggest concern with anterior and posterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery is that the patient will not come in for a review because the ligament needs a process to recover and the patient should complete this treatment under the guidance of the surgeon. We always give patients a time for review, but some patients think that the treatment is over when they are discharged from the hospital; others think that the longer the hospital stay, the better. In fact, inpatient treatment has its task. After inpatient treatment is completed, the doctor will teach the patient some rehabilitation skills and precautions, and it is good to go home to recuperate and review outpatient at this time. It is not good for the patient himself if he is still hospitalized because after all, it is a hospital and there are all kinds of patients. But if you do not follow the doctor’s orders, it is useless to stay in the hospital for a long time. For example, just after arthroscopy, the affected limb needs to rest and avoid weight bearing. The patient did not listen to me (he had his own caregiver), and as a result, his knee was always swollen, and his family asked an acquaintance to extend his hospital stay. The lack of attention early on affected the rehabilitation process and inevitably prolonged the recovery time. There were four ligament reconstruction patients who were impressed, and the post-operative rehabilitation was well explained, but there were still problems. One of them recovered as planned in the early and mid-term, and the result was very good. Six months later, he started to engage in strenuous activities – playing soccer (he could start jogging at this time, but soccer was too strenuous). However, after the patient’s attention, he had no problem and was satisfied with the result. The second patient was a tour guide, who felt good after the operation, and after hearing the layman say that he could walk, he took a tour to Vietnam three weeks after the operation, and came back with some swelling, but no ligament laxity was found after the examination, and he was told to pay attention to rest. Later, he didn’t hear anything and didn’t come for review. The third patient came to review twice, prematurely went to walk with crutches, walking with a crutch, but not crutches, after correction, there is a correction, but also did not review. The fourth patient was not reviewed after surgery and came to the clinic six months later. The function of the affected limb was still good and the ligaments were stable, but he listened to the layman’s advice to go to the crutches for weight bearing (stepping on the ground) too early, and as a result, because the affected limb was recovering, the good leg took a lot of force, resulting in premature degeneration of the knee joint of the good leg. Therefore, regular review is important and important for recovery. It is said that in foreign countries there is legislation that requires the patient to return to the hospital for a review. For the sake of the patients themselves, please pay attention to the review!
