Fever caused by bacterial infection usually lasts for 3~5 days, but it varies according to the severity of the infection, the size of the patient’s own resistance and whether he/she receives active treatment. If the patient has strong resistance and receives active antimicrobial treatment, the temperature may be under control in 1~2 days. However, in special populations, such as the elderly and patients with immune disorders, the recovery of the temperature will be slower and may take about 3~7 days before the temperature may be restored. Bacterial infections require timely antimicrobial treatment under doctor’s supervision to prevent high fever from causing other injuries. Patients should pay attention to not blowing the wind when having a fever, keep the indoor temperature and humidity, pay attention to drink more hot water, and eat a light and easy to digest food, don’t eat spicy and stimulating food.
