How soon after IUI can be removed

IUDs can be removed as soon as possible within 3-7 days after menstruation for women of normal reproductive age. The IUD is one of the most commonly used contraceptive methods in China. If there are no special circumstances after IUD placement, it is recommended to try not to remove the IUD first, it takes several months to slowly adapt to it, but if there is lower abdominal pain or irregular vaginal bleeding after IUD, the IUD can be removed 3-7 days after menstruation. Usually an IUD can be used for many years, depending on the material of the chosen IUD, the duration of use can be 5, 10, 15 years, etc. For women after menopause, it is recommended that the IUD be removed within six months after menopause, rather than waiting until the uterus has shrunk and the cervical opening has closed, making it more difficult to remove the IUD. Ultrasound and routine examination of white belt should be performed before IUD removal, and the IUD can be removed in the clinic after there is no abnormality. Women who have been menopausal for more than one year should be hospitalized for IUD removal because the condition of the cervix is poor at this time and requires preoperative cervical preparation.
