Benign changes in the bilobed thyroid gland, how to treat them

Bilobar thyroid benign changes may be caused by Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, Graves’ disease, nodular goiter, etc., and need to be treated under the guidance of the doctor, such as general treatment, medication and so on.
1. Hashimoto’s thyroiditis: If there is only goiter but no thyroid function abnormality, no treatment is needed for the time being; however, when accompanied by hypothyroidism, it is necessary to use medication for alternative treatment, such as levothyroxine sodium tablets.
2. Graves’ disease: when accompanied by hyperthyroidism, anti-thyroid drugs can be used, such as methimazole, propylthiouracil and so on, or iodine 131 treatment, surgical resection treatment and so on.
3. Nodular goiter: when accompanied by hyperthyroidism, it can be treated with drugs such as propylthiouracil; when accompanied by hypothyroidism, it can be treated with levothyroxine sodium tablets; if it produces pressure symptoms, it is recommended that it be treated with surgery.
