Cervical lesion LSIL refers to low-grade intraepithelial neoplasia of the cervix, which is usually caused by HPV infection and is a pathological change in the cells of the cervix. LSIL is a result of colposcopy and is a benign lesion, but the possibility of malignancy exists, mainly due to infection with the HPV virus. After the cervical cells are invaded by this virus, the morphology of the cells will change, but this change is reversible, and when the body’s immune system is strengthened or topical antiviral drugs are used, this change can return to the normal state. If LSIL is not actively treated, it may gradually transform into high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia, and may further transform into cervical cancer. Therefore, women who find their cervix belongs to low-grade intraepithelial neoplasia need to consult their doctors and take standardized treatment in time to avoid delaying their condition.
