How to use rabeprazole enteric-coated tablets

Usually adults take oral rabeprazole enteric-coated tablets 10 mg once daily, or 20 mg daily depending on the condition. The medication is used for up to 8 weeks for the treatment of gastric ulcers, reflux esophagitis, and other conditions, and up to 6 weeks for duodenal ulcers. Adverse reactions that may occur when taking the drug include shock, thrombocytopenia, and visual disturbances. It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to the drug; it should be used with caution in patients with hepatic dysfunction and advanced age. It should be avoided in lactating women, and pregnant women, or those at risk of pregnancy, should use it only if the therapeutic benefit outweighs the risk, and the safety of the drug in children is not known. The drug is best taken on an empty stomach before breakfast and should be swallowed whole, not chewed or crushed. Regular blood tests should be performed during use of the drug, and if abnormalities are found the drug should be discontinued and treated under a doctor’s supervision. Long-term use for more than three years may cause vitamin B12 malabsorption, and should be supplemented with vitamin B12. If you need to use the drug, it should be used reasonably under the guidance of a doctor, and should not be taken blindly to avoid delaying the condition.
