What’s wrong with the back of my head?

Pain in the back of the head may be related to physiological factors, or it may be caused by cervical spondylosis, hypertension, cerebrovascular disease, primary headache and so on.
1. Physiological factors: excessive mental stress, emotional tension, anxiety, coupled with lack of sleep, can easily lead to brain dysfunction, which may cause headache, and may also be accompanied by poor mental state, sleepiness and other manifestations.
2. Cervical spondylosis: If you suffer from severe cervical spondylosis, especially if you have cervical osteophytes or herniated cervical discs, it is easy to compress the local blood vessels and cause insufficient blood supply to the vertebral basilar artery, which may cause back pain.
3. Hypertension: If you suffer from hypertension, due to unstable blood pressure control, when the blood pressure fluctuation increases, the pressure inside the cerebral blood vessels increases, which may cause headache, and may be accompanied by dizziness, nausea and other manifestations.
4. Cerebrovascular disease: usually due to cerebral atherosclerosis, cerebral hemorrhage, etc., which leads to narrow occlusion or bleeding of blood vessels in the posterior circulation of the brain, and in severe cases of cerebral swelling, it may cause pain in the back of the head, which may also be accompanied by vertigo, limb weakness and other manifestations.
5. Primary headache: such as tension-type headache patients may manifest as headache.
6. Other causes: fever, encephalitis, etc. may only have the performance of headache.
Headache behind the head, exclude physiological factors, should promptly seek medical attention.
