Must an ocular cyst be surgically removed?

Eyeball cysts do not have to be surgically removed, for relatively small cysts, observation and follow-up, if the cyst is relatively large, the patient can follow the doctor’s instructions to perform surgical excision treatment. Ocular cysts, such as blepharocysts, are cysts caused by aseptic inflammation of the eye. They are mainly caused by blockage of the blepharoplasty glands, resulting in secretions produced by the blepharoplasty ducts being unable to be discharged, and ultimately forming cysts. When the cyst is small, the patient can promote the subsidence of the cyst by applying localized hot compresses on the eye. Surgical excision is not necessary, and the patient can be observed and followed up. If the patient’s eyelid cysts are large in size, hot compresses can not make the cysts absorbed, the patient can follow the doctor’s advice to perform surgical excision treatment to promote the recession of the cysts. It is recommended that patients with cysts in the eye should consult a doctor in time to assess their condition and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
