Is a low white blood cell a protein deficiency?

Low white blood cell does not mean lack of protein, it may be related to infections, hematologic diseases, physical and chemical factors, etc. It is recommended to go to the hospital to clarify the cause of the disease.
There is no relationship between low white blood cells and protein deficiency. Possible factors causing low white blood cells include:
1. Infectious factors: white blood cells will decrease when infected by gram-negative bacilli such as typhoid fever and paratyphoid fever; viral infectious diseases such as influenza, viral hepatitis and chicken pox will also cause white blood cells to decrease.
2. Blood system diseases such as aplastic anemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, hemophagocytic syndrome and other conditions may cause low white blood cells, which may be accompanied by a decline in red blood cells and platelets.
3. Physical and chemical damage, X-rays, γ-rays and other physical factors, chemical substances such as benzene, lead, chloramphenicol, sulfonamides, antitumor drugs, etc. may cause leukocyte decline.
Other factors such as hypersplenism, autoimmune diseases may also cause low white blood cells, it is recommended to go to the hematology department of the hospital for a clear diagnosis and treatment under the guidance of the physician.
