Can you die from human papilloma virus?

If infected with HPV, you will not die. HPV is divided into high-risk HPV infections and low-risk HPV infections. Low-risk HPV infections clinically cause condyloma acuminatum, which is transmitted through sexual contact and is not life-threatening as long as it is treated with laser or cryotherapy. High-risk HPV infections are transient in about 80% of patients and will clear from the body after 8 months to a year. 20% of patients will have persistent infections that cause cervical epithelial lesions. Therefore, when a high-risk HPV infection is detected, colposcopy is given to find out if there is already a lesion on the cervical epithelium. If the test is negative, the HPV test will be repeated in six months or a year, and if the test is positive, treatment will be given according to the results, so it is not life-threatening and will not kill you.
