How to relieve postural hypotension

Postural hypotension relief methods include etiologic treatment and symptomatic treatment. Postural hypotension is caused by a change in body position, such as getting up from a lying position or standing for a long time, which causes a drop in blood pressure and insufficient blood supply to the brain, which may result in unsteadiness, dizziness, and in severe cases, fainting. Causes of postural hypotension include severe infections, chronic malnutrition, use of antihypertensive drugs or tranquilizers. When the cause is clearly identified, treatment can be directed at the cause, such as anti-infective treatment (cephalosporin) for severe infections, strengthening nutrition for chronic malnutrition, and timely adjustment or discontinuation of antihypertensive drugs or sedative drugs. When postural hypotension occurs, bed rest can be timely, can try to lower the head, increase the blood supply to the brain, and can be treated with oxygen if possible. For some patients with prolonged symptoms and persistently low blood pressure that cannot be relieved, subcutaneous injection of antihypertensive drugs can be used as prescribed by the doctor. When postural hypotension occurs, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time and standardize the treatment under the guidance of a professional doctor.
