I’ve been working a lot of outpatient shifts lately and have come in contact with a lot of types of patients. There are some thoughts that I feel compelled to say, perhaps of some use to you. I often encounter two types of friends in the clinic: there are some particularly calm friends, saying that they have grown a lump for several years, no pain, no itch, and no one wants me to operate after seeing many doctors; or children are already 7, 8 or even teenagers, nipples and liquid squeezed out, insisting that this is normal and so on. There are also some nervous people who say that they feel a lot of “lumps” in their breasts, and some say that their breasts are sore and different from before, so do they have breast cancer? Today, we will talk about the first type of cases. For young people in their teens and twenties, breast fibroadenoma is a relatively common disease. Most of the lumps in the breast that have a slightly hard texture, some elasticity, smooth surface and good movement are in this category. These are generally slow-growing, painless and itchy, so they tend to paralyze people, thinking that it doesn’t matter, maybe taking some medicine, conditioning and maybe getting better. In addition, there are various kinds of “miracle doctors”, many boast that the “miracle doctors” who do not open the good package frequently appear in various media, so that we can not distinguish right from wrong. But one fact must be clear: the authoritative textbook of the People’s Health Publishing House “Surgery” or the authoritative tool for physicians “Practical Surgery” and other texts, there is only one principle of treatment for fibroadenoma of the breast: surgical removal. There are no drugs that can treat fibroadenoma. There are two methods of surgery: open excision surgery and ultrasound-guided vacuum pump-assisted spin biopsy surgery, commonly known as general surgery and minimally invasive surgery. Minimally invasive surgery was originally a technique used for tumor biopsy, but was later applied and found to be able to perform complete tumor resection, and was approved by the FDA for the removal of clinical breast solid tumors. The advantages of minimally invasive surgery are: one incision, multiple lesions can be removed. The incision can be concealed and invisible, and can be designed according to the situation. The whole procedure is guided by ultrasound, which allows accurate removal of clinically inaccessible lesions. The disadvantages are: it is more difficult and time-consuming to remove larger tumors, and it is cautious to use for young patients because of the damage to the large breast ducts caused by central tumor removal.
