What does hepatitis C type 2 mean?

Hepatitis C is known as viral hepatitis C. Hepatitis C type 2 refers to one of the types of hepatitis C virus genotyping. Currently in medicine, hepatitis C typing methods include virus-dominant typing and clinically-dominant typing. Virus-led typing of hepatitis C is categorized according to different sequences of viral genes, which can be divided into type 1, type 2, type 3, type 4, type 5 and type 6, of which type 2 is hepatitis C type 2. Our country is mainly dominated by type 1b (difficult to treat) and type 2a (good to treat), with type 1b accounting for 58.6% and type 2a accounting for 24.1%. Genotyping is the basis for the treatment of hepatitis C, and the treatment cycles and medication choices of different types are different. Clinical dominant hepatitis C typing can be divided into acute hepatitis C and chronic hepatitis C based on different symptoms. The clinical manifestations of viral hepatitis C are mainly digestive symptoms, which may show abdominal distension, pain in the liver area, etc., sometimes accompanied by fatigue. If Hepatitis C virus cannot be cleared in time, it may develop into cirrhosis or even liver cancer. Therefore, once found with viral hepatitis C, patients should seek medical treatment in time to avoid worsening of the condition due to delayed treatment.
