How to choose between porcelain or implants

There are four main types of missing teeth: fixed, removable, fixed-detachable and implant prostheses. Among them, removable prostheses are hardly preferred by patients because of the obvious foreign body feeling and inconvenience, while fixed prostheses and implants are increasingly preferred by patients. To facilitate the selection of patients, a brief comparison of these two restorative methods is presented. Porcelain fixed bridges or all-ceramic fixed bridges are a theoretically and clinically sound restorative technique that requires partial removal of two adjacent teeth and requires a certain level of dental health on both sides. Since it can be made for both adjacent teeth at the same time, this type of restoration is recommended for patients with original problems such as misalignment, chipped, discolored and poorly formed teeth on both sides. However, because the strength of the denture is entirely borne by the natural teeth on both sides, and the strength that each natural tooth can bear is limited, so if there are too many missing teeth can not be restored by porcelain. Implant dentures are relatively late in the country, but have made great development in recent years. The method is to surgically place an implant in the bone tissue of the missing tooth area, and then create a denture above it after the implant is integrated with the bone. The advantage is that the adjacent teeth do not have to be removed, but there are some requirements for physical conditions, the risk is greater than the former, and it can only restore the form and function of the missing teeth without improving the adjacent teeth, and the price is relatively high. No matter which restoration method is used, it is clinically proven. As long as the indications are strictly controlled and the standard operation is strictly followed, it can meet the clinical requirements of restoring the aesthetics and function, so we suggest you to consider carefully how to choose. We hope that you will soon have a smile that will satisfy you.
