First of all, patients need to go to the hospital to receive oral clinical examination by orthodontic specialists, and routinely take X-rays, mainly including surface tomography and lateral cephalometric films, the former is to observe the status of the roots and alveolar bone of the whole mouth, with or without blocked teeth and ambulatory teeth; the latter is to observe the status of the development of the upper and lower jaws and the angle of the teeth. Secondly, patients are required to take alginate impressions to make dental plaster models for physicians to analyze and diagnose the teeth. With the comprehensive data collected from the patient, the practitioner needs to make a detailed assessment of the patient’s overall dental condition and formulate a personalized treatment plan suitable for different patients, which usually takes about one week. When the patient revisits the clinic, the doctor will inform the patient of the most appropriate treatment plan and ask for the patient’s consent to sign and start orthodontic treatment. Generally, the cycle of orthodontic treatment is about two years, and the patient needs to be re-examined once every 4-6 weeks.
