What causes high red blood cells?

High red blood cells, i.e., high erythrocytes, may be associated with large losses of body fluids, compensatory increases, non-compensatory increases, and myeloproliferative disorders.
1. Massive loss of body fluids: when the organism has severe vomiting, diarrhea, sweating, extensive burns, etc., it can lead to massive loss of body fluids and a relative increase in red blood cell content.
2. Compensatory increase: such as obstructive pulmonary emphysema, pulmonary heart disease, etc., can lead to a decrease in the body’s oxygen saturation, red blood cell compensatory increase.
3. Non-compensatory increase: such as renal cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, ovarian cancer and other tumor diseases, which can cause red blood cell increase.
4. Myeloproliferative diseases: such as true erythrocytosis, which is caused by abnormal bone marrow proliferation leading to increased production of erythrocytes and high erythrocytes.
When erythrocytosis is increased, the cause should be clarified and actively treated under the guidance of doctors.
