The recovery time of chest pain after CPR is related to the specific cause of the chest pain may be subcutaneous emphysema hematoma, sternum or rib fracture, pulmonary contusion, etc., according to the different circumstances of the recovery time ranging from 1 week to 3 months.
1. Subcutaneous emphysema and hematoma: chest pain after pulmonary resuscitation may appear subcutaneous emphysema or hematoma, hematoma larger patients will recover after 1 week or so after puncture and drainage, for smaller patients can be localized hot compresses to promote blood circulation, waiting for natural absorption.
2. Sternum or rib fracture: chest pain may also be caused by sternum or rib fracture, if not accompanied by lung and thoracic cavity organ damage, usually after 6 weeks to start healing, about 3 months to return to normal, if accompanied by organ damage, the recovery time may be extended accordingly.
3. Lung contusion: Pressure during cardiopulmonary resuscitation may lead to lung contusion, generally after hemostasis, oxygen therapy, anti-inflammatory and other effective treatments, the gradual recovery in about 1~2 weeks.
