What causes cold feet when sleeping

According to Chinese medicine, sleeping with cold feet is related to qi and blood deficiency, yang deficiency, liver depression and qi stagnation (poor qi and blood transportation in the liver, emotional depression). The exact cause needs to be decided in conjunction with the patient’s other symptoms. Patients with deficiency of qi and blood may have symptoms of cold feet in bed, accompanied by qi deficiency and weakness, vertigo and palpitations (rapid heartbeat, often accompanied by panic), pale tongue and white moss. Patients with deficiency of yang qi may have symptoms of cold feet while sleeping, accompanied by fear of cold, lumbar and knee soreness (feeling of soreness and weakness in the lumbar and knee areas), loose stools (thin and unformed feces), and frequent urination at night. Patients with liver depression and stagnation of qi may have symptoms of cold feet in bed, accompanied by distension and pain in the chest and ribs, belching (hiccups), depression, and so on. If you experience any of these discomforts, it is recommended that you seek prompt medical attention.
