Bone metastasis MRI presentation

Magnetic resonance imaging is a very sensitive test to detect bone metastases. Bone metastases are mainly manifested as multiple or single hypodense foci on MRI, which are characterized by bone destruction, bone filling defects, and insignificant enhancement or weak enhancement. If there is also a primary lesion, such as bone metastasis from lung cancer, then there are often CT imaging changes in the lung such as soft tissue masses. For bone metastases, it is better to do puncture biopsy under CT or MRI guidance to find pathological cancer cells consistent with the primary lesion, which is the gold standard for bone metastases.
